"I have less than 2000 miles so far, mpg started very low about 24 but has been climbing with break in, hitting about 35mpg now with 80% highway driving. If we get the touted 39mpg, then this car is a cost winner over the hybrids. Mpg seams to drop quickly when driving over 65mph, and I drive 70mph daily. I like the ride, may be a little stiff for some people but I prefer good handling to soft ride, and this car appears to handle well for a front wheel drive car. Best looking civic they have made, fit of body parts is very tight. Does not have GPS, but I don't really want outside parties tracking when, where, and how I drive so this is good."

"The new Civic is very disappointing. It is not as much fun as the old civic model, not available as a hatchback and has few improvements with outdated styling. Honda is asleep at the wheel and will no doubt start loosing market share."

"I bought a 2012 honda civic automatic 5 speed. I know it has 3 speeds, and maybe 4 speeds but it does not have 5 speeds. I coast into a stop sign and what happens the transmission down shifts, at 60+ mph you come to a 2 or 3 degree hill and the car down shifts. Going down a hill without touching the gas pedal the car stays in 1st gear RPM over 4000, I have to touch the gas pedal to get the transmission to shift up to a higher gear and low RPM. junk transmission redesign it poor gas mileage 24 mpg"

"Very happy with new ride. Love Bluetooth phone option and large speedometer. Only had it for 3-1/2 weeks but so far it's great. Also like the windshield wipers that don't throw left side onto right since they are like scissors."

"Complaints: Noisy could be better sound proofed, the USB audio system only syncs with Apple, Lots of plastic in interior but thats not so bad, The ECON option get me an average of 2 miles per gallon LESS when it should be more. I had a 1998 Accord LX, I thought fourteen years later the civic would be a better car than a 14 year old Accord in all aspects, but it's not the case. I wish I test drove a Hyundai Elantra, I like the styling better and the interior seems a bit more polished but I chickened out and went for reliability"

"overall a nice car, when you are parking you can not see , over the dashboard how much space you need, and secondly the back seat is not a split in case you need to carry some thing long the whole backrest flips over and no room to seat"
